Your Voice for Faith, Family, and Freedom in Texas’ 38th Congressional District

Born in Venezuela and proudly Texan by choice, Carmen Maria Montiel came to the United States in 1988 as a student, in pursuit of liberty, opportunity, and the American dream. She became a proud naturalized American citizen in 2002.

For over 20 years, Carmen helped build and grow a family-owned medical practice in Houston, the city where she started her family and planted deep roots.

Raised from a young age to value faith, family, and freedom, Carmen has passed those principles on to her three children. Her journey also gives her a powerful perspective: she witnessed firsthand the devastating collapse of Venezuela under socialist rule.

Once a prosperous nation built on strong family values, Venezuela was destroyed by the false promises of socialism, corruption, and authoritarianism. That experience drives Carmen’s mission today. She understands, better than most, what happens when a nation abandons its core values. She sees the warning signs in America, and she refuses to stay silent.

A Candidate with Real-Life Experience

Carmen Maria Montiel brings a unique and powerful voice to Texas’ 38th Congressional District, a majority Hispanic and Black American community that has long been overlooked by career politicians. She believes this district deserves a representative who reflects its values: faith, family, hard work, and personal responsibility.

Before entering politics, Carmen built a successful career in the Medical field, journalism, entrepreneurship, and real estate. After being crowned Miss Venezuela, Miss South America, and placing as Second Runner-Up in Miss Universe 1984, Carmen used her platform to inspire young women to pursue excellence through discipline and determination.

That success led to a respected career as a television journalist and news anchor in Houston’s Hispanic media market, where she gave voice to under served communities and championed common-sense conservative values.

Today, Carmen continues to advocate for:

  • Secure borders
  • Safe Communities
  • Economic opportunity
  • Education free from political indoctrination

A Fighter for Families and Freedom

Carmen is not just a leader, she is a fighter. After enduring a difficult and abusive marriage, and becoming the target of false, widely publicized accusations, she stood her ground, cleared her name, and won justice for herself and her children.

That personal battle deepened her commitment to constitutional rights and the freedoms that make America exceptional.

It also sparked a passion for helping others. Carmen has hosted workshops and programs that empower women, offering self-defense trainingcrisis support, and tools to escape and recover from domestic violence.

Most recently, Carmen has testified numerous times before the Texas Legislature to help craft laws protecting survivors of abuse and to support bills that combat human trafficking, an issue that has surged due to the open border crisis under the Biden Administration.

A Proven Advocate for Our Community

Carmen holds a degree in Broadcast Journalism from East Tennessee State University and has received multiple awards for her work in media and community service. She is a proud mother of three, a dedicated churchgoer, and an active volunteer in organizations that tackle real problems with real solutions.

Why Carmen?

Carmen Maria Montiel is not a career politician. She is a mother, a survivor, and a passionate defender of American values.

Her life story is a testament to faith, perseverance, and the power of conservative principles to uplift communities. Now, she’s ready to fight for TX-38, to bring common sense back to Washington and be a true voice for the people.

With your support, we can flip District 38 RED and restore hope, opportunity, and freedom to the families of Harris County.
